Vascular Anesthesiology: Managing the High-Risk Patient

In order to commission an issue on vascular anesthesia care, I invited two cardiovascular anesthesiologists. Dr Megan Kostibas is an Assistant Professof of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. She earned her MD from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. She completed her anesthesiology residency and cardiothoracic anesthesiology and critical care medicine fellowships at Johns Hopkins. Dr Kostibas serves as the program director of the Adult Cardiothoracic and Intervention Echocardiography Fellowship. Dr Heather K. Hayanga is an Associate Professor in the Division of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Anesthesiology at the West Virginia University. She earned her MD at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, and a Master of Public Health in healthy policy and comparative health systems from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. She completed her Anesthesiology Residency and Fellowship in Adult Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Together, they have edited an important issue.
